Her debut album ‘Gamble’ - self-released in April 2025 - was awarded ‘Folk Album of The Month’ by The Guardian, and received 4-star reviews on RTE Radio 1 Arena. With songs like ‘Angel from Montgomery,’ ‘Nick of Time’, ‘Something to Talk About’ and ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me, this celebration of Bonnie Raitt will take you on a journey celebrating the music and songs of Bonnie Raitt all throughout her career. Three top blues women will grace the stage at The Summit Inn for this mini festival within the festival. Headlining will be the star of many Howth Roots and Blues festivals Mary Stokes and her band. Crow Black Chicken at Howth Roots & Blues Festival 2026

Aug 8We're thrilled to announce that Cork Blues Rock Trio Crow Black Chicken are this year's Saturday Night Headline at The Abbey Tavern. This power trio combine elements of folk and hard rock with the blues rock of bands like Gov’t mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin. The band was formed in 2009 in Cork city when lead singer Christy O’Hanlon met the rhythm section of Stephen McGrath ( Bass ) and Gev Barrett (Drums ). The band immediately jelled and went on to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury 2011. The band released their first raw blues rock and roll album in 2012 which was produced by Philip Magee. In 2015 the band went on to release their first live album entitled Deep South which was voted top 5 live albums of 2015 by Classic Rock Blues. In 2016 Crow Black Chicken opened for ZZ Top at the Marquee in Cork which brought them face to face with the Texan compatriots whom they often drew so many comparisons to. Always determined to create a sound all of their own the band continues to tour all over Europe and will release their 4th studio album in 2024. Doors 8.30pm. Aug 9We love legacy headliners and this year we have one of the best Irish bands of the last 40 years. Liam, Fiachna and Peter, the 3 founder members of Hothouse Flowers will play an intimate acoustic show at the Abbey Tavern, a venue that has recently re-established its position as one or ireland best acoustic venues. Despite the bands lengthy career which is now into its fifth decade there is a sense of unfinished business. Every night they want to play the best gig they have ever played and take the musical risks that can maybe make that possible. There are still songs to be written and emotions to share. Whether its in a tiny club, an arena or in a festival field there is a sense that the best is yet to come. Doors 7.30pm. On stage 8pm.
