Blues in the Bar featuring Mark Harrison
Sep 20  MARK HARRISON is widely considered one of the most original and interesting blues artists around. His alternative, all-original music has taken him to some iconic venues and festivals in the UK, attracting acclaim wherever he goes. In 2019 he appeared live on BBC Radio 2 as a guest on The Cerys Matthews Blues show. Cerys described Mark on-air as ‘A bit different and kinda groovy too’.   He has released six albums to date which have been acclaimed across a range of genres, receiving airplay and excellent reviews in the UK, Europe and the US. In 2024 Mark released his 8th album, Fools and Clowns. The album covers a diverse range of topics including the modern workplace, episodes in the lives of original blues artists, comparisons between the great inventions of the past like sewage systems and modern-day inventions like social media. Musically, the album has a timeless vibe that would sit well next to some of the classic albums of the 60’s/70’s such as those released by The Band and Little Feat. A thrilling finger-picker and slide guitar player with his own distinctive style, his catchy rhythms combine with lyrics that intrigue and engage. He takes elements of roots music, including folk, blues and gospel, to create something that is very much his own genre. A master storyteller,  each song unfolds like a 3-minute film or novel. Mark’s live shows are known not only for the music content but also for his engaging between-song chat.  ‘Everybody should be talking about Mark Harrison’ - Classic Rock magazine ‘Charismatic live performance’ - RnR magazine ‘With a highly distinctive style and a growing international reputation, combines superb picking and slide work with richly burnished vocals and inventive original material’ - Celtic Connections Festival  ‘He often sounds like a cross between Ry Cooder and Little Feat’ - Blues & Rhythm magazine Travelling in from outside of Stockton-on-Tees and fancy making a night of it? Molly Vulpyne Band
Sep 24  Molly Vulpyne Band formed in 2024, after what was meant to be 'just one gig' snowballed into recording an album and playing a rapid-fire run of festivals and gigs across the UK and Ireland. After releasing her solo EP Amortise in 2024, Dublin based songwriter Molly expanded her sound with a full band featuring Irish punk veterans Peter Jones (ParanoidVisions), Jay Bagnall (Paranoid Visions,Steve Ignorant Band), and Tony Carberry (The Lee Harveys). The band’s live reputation grew rapidly, performing at the National Stadium with Alexisonfire and Coheed and Cambria, playing to a packed-out Opera House at Rebellion Festival and supporting The Vaselines and CKY.  Their sound refuses to be boxed in, part punk, part alternative, part melodic, part chaos and raw emotion. It fits nowhere and everywhere, and that’s exactly the point. Drawing comparisons to PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, and Garbage, Molly Vulpyne channels fury and vulnerability while forging a sound that is unmistakably her own - poetic, political, and always authentic. Ghost Dance
Oct 91985-1989 Ghost Dance was originally formed in 1985 by Anne Marie Hurst (formerly of Skeletal Family) and Gary Marx (from The Sisters of Mercy). The band quickly built a strong following, spending several weeks high in the indie charts with a string of singles and an album on the Karbon label. During this time, they toured extensively with acts such as The Cult, The Mission, All About Eve, The Wonder Stuff, and Killing Joke, and appeared at the Reading Rock Festival in  1988. After signing with Chrysalis Records, Ghost Dance released their major-label album Stop the World and recorded radio sessions for the likes of John Peel, Janice Long, and Nicky Campbell. They also developed a huge European following, with TV appearances in Spain, Germany, the UK, and Canada. The band eventually disbanded in 1989 after completing a tour in Germany with The Ramones. 2021-2024 In 2021, Ghost Dance unveiled a new line-up featuring Anne Marie Hurst, quickly gaining momentum with YouTube videos surpassing 100,000 views and a series of well-received singles and live shows. Highlights included performing as special guests of Fields of the Nephilim at the sold-out Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival in Whitby (2022), alongside appearances in Belgium, Sweden, and Mexico. The following year, the band released their long-awaited album The Silent Shout (2023), which received rave reviews. The record debuted at No.1 on the iTunes Goth Rock chart, while the CD continues to rank highly and remains an Amazon best-seller within the genre. 2025 Relaunch The increased touring and recording workload impacted the availability of some of the band members. So in 2025 after a number of guest musicians passed through the ranks, Anne Marie rebuilt the band with a solidified lineup, renewed vigour and plans for a string of UK and international shows. The Men They Couldn't Hang
Oct 15Founded in 1984, TMTCH evolved from the Shepherd’s Bush squatting and busking scene to make their debut supporting Poguemahone at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in the Easter of that year. Swiftly their uproarious and engaging style, coupled with keenly contemporary songs, gained a passionate national following, leading to a 40 year career filled with much loved music, a dedicated fan community and high octane performances. Touring continually throughout their career, TMTCH have crossed the globe by way of Europe, Canada, USA, Iceland, Egypt and Estonia. They have appeared at festivals such as Glastonbury, Roskilde, Reading, Pink Pop and Cambridge Folk and have appeared with a roll call of International artists such as David Bowie, Van Morrison, Bo Diddley, The Smiths, Elvis Costello and the Oyster Band to name a few. Their recordings have been acclaimed in print, on radio and online; from their definitive version of the anti war classic Green Fields of France to the anti fascist anthem Ghosts of Cable Street and the epic historical ballads, Ironmasters and The Colours. Recent albums The Defiant (2014) and Cockahoop (2018) have seen TMTCH rise again into prominence; their vitality undimmed. Devastated by the passing of friend and founder member Stefan Cush during the Covid lockdown, TMTCH are responding in the only way they know how; writing, recording and playing live to their ever loyal and growing community of fans. The band found a new lease of life during their very successful  anniversary tour in 2024, celebrating their 40  years of raising hell which included special events and a 'Best of' release. In 2026 they will continue touring and plan to  release a brand new album. Travelling in from outside of Stockton-on-Tees and fancy making a night of it? Car Bomb
Nov 8Divergent promotions presents by arrangement with Atonal Agency  Car Bomb  Originally formed on Long Island, New York in 2000, Car Bomb is a band whose style is marked by a highly experimental and extremely aggressive approach to metal. Their unpredictable blend of evolving polyrhythms, shifting tempos, syncopated down-tuned guitars, jazz-influenced drumming, harmonically deconstructive riffing, and dynamic vocals create a sound that is pulverizingly heavy and intensely disorienting. They create music that is fluid and ever changing, and are not afraid of veering off on bold melodic tangents. This unique sound combined with a strong DIY work ethic and a continuously growing fan base has earned them the opportunity to tour with larger acts in the genre. Car Bomb released their debut album Centralia on Relapse Records in 2007, and supported the record on US tours with High on Fire in 2008 and Gojira in 2009. They self-released their second album w^w^^w^w (pronounced “w-click-w” or “the waveform album”) in 2012. It featured guest vocals by Joseph Duplantier of Gojira, whom they’d again tour with later that year. In 2014, Car Bomb was invited to tour Europe for the first time, opening up for Meshuggah on their 25 th anniversary tour. Car Bomb released their third album Meta in the fall of 2016, which again feature Joseph Duplantier who this time also shared a co-production credit with Greg Kubacki. The album also features Frank Mullen of Suffocation and was mixed by Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive). The band kicked off the release with shows supporting Gojira and Tesseract as well as opening for The Dillinger Escape Plan on their farewell US tour. In early 2017, Car Bomb headed back to Europe/UK opening up for Gojira. The band then headlined their own European tour in September before returning to the US in October to support Animals as Leaders and Periphery.  The band is currently headquartered at Silvercord Studios in Brooklyn, New York.

Oct 16Arab Strap's music features frank, unflinching narratives about sex and drugs spoken/sung in a thick Scottish brogue, often backed by drum machines, electronic loops, and sparse guitar melodies. A major part of the Glasgow music scene that spawned Belle & Sebastian and Mogwai, they were among Scotland's most acclaimed bands of the 1990s and 2000s. Centered around the duo of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton, the group's sound became richer and more ambitious as they toured and collaborated with additional musicians. While early albums such as the 1998 breakthrough Philophobia were sparse and somber, the band's music became more polished and slightly more optimistic with subsequent efforts such as 2001's The Red Thread and 2005's The Last Romance, which was announced as their final album at the time. Both members became highly prolific and acclaimed solo artists in their own right, and following reunion gigs during the 2010s, Arab Strap released their seventh studio album, As Days Get Dark, in 2021. Joe Ramsey
Oct 23  With his first hometown show in 5 years Joe Ramsey returns to The Georgian Theatre this October. Joe Ramsey steps into bold new creative territory with his mesmerising new single, ‘Read the Room’, the title track from his ‘Read the Room’ EP. Expanding his signature indie-folk sound, Ramsey leans into a darker, more cinematic sonic palette, delivering his most ambitious and fully realised work to date. Built around haunting acoustic foundations that gradually unfold into sweeping electric textures, ‘Read the Room’ captures a sense of emotional weight and narrative depth. Produced by James Kenosha (Mosa Wild, PASTELS, Gavin James), the track balances intimacy and scale, moving from delicate fingerpicked guitar to expansive, Americana-tinged rock arrangements. Ramsey’s commanding vocal performance anchors the song throughout, shifting between restraint and raw intensity with striking control. The release is accompanied by a visually stunning music video, directed and produced by Barely A Square. Presented as a modern Western short film, the video follows a lone cowboy narrative steeped in symbolism, survival, and moral descent. Featuring Lee Jackson and Harrison Edmonds, alongside Dennis Baer as the antagonist figure, the story unfolds as a stylised shootout saga, culminating in a powerful final scene where Ramsey’s character confronts, and ultimately makes a pact with, the devil himself.  With its evocative storytelling, rich instrumentation, and striking visual counterpart, ‘Read the Room’ marks a defining moment in Joe Ramsey’s artistic evolution, cementing him as a distinctive and compelling voice within modern indie-folk. NME’D - A Tribute to 00’s NME Classics
Nov 6Do you remember when you’d nip down to the newsagent to grab the latest copy of NME, when those bands felt like gods and every new issue mattered? When Propaganda club nights were sacred, your CD wallet was bursting with indie bangers, and life just felt better? NME’D - A Tribute to 00’s NME Classics is your chance to relive those glory days, loud and unapologetic. NME’D is one live band smashing out the very best hits from the era that defined a generation - Maxïmo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Kasabian, The Libertines, The Fratellis and more. No filler, no deep cuts nobody remembers - just wall-to-wall anthems that once soundtracked your best nights, worst hangovers, and everything in between. This isn’t just a gig, it’s a full-throttle throwback to a time when guitars ruled, choruses were massive, and indie music felt dangerous again. Whether you were there the first time around or discovered it later, NME’D delivers the sweat, the shout-alongs, and the chaos of the 00s indie explosion - all in one night. Dust off your dancing shoes. It’s time to reconnect with that teenage/20 something year old version of you that knew how to get wild! Goodbye Mr MacKenzie
Nov 7 Goodbye Mr MacKenzie, one of Scotland’s most distinctive and influential alternative bands, built a strong reputation for dramatic, high-energy live performances and intelligent, often darkly poetic songwriting. The group’s  debut album ‘Good Deeds and Dirty Rags’ was released in 1988 and featured some of their best-known songs, including ‘The Rattler’ and ‘Open Your Arms’. After two more albums, however, the band split in 1993; a year later Shirley Manson joined Garbage and, 17 million album sales later, she and the band continue to explore and celebrate rock music as a vehicle for change to new audiences across the globe. In 2019 Goodbye Mr MacKenzie reformed and in 2024 a remastered version of their third album Five debuted in the top 5 of the Scottish album charts.  For 2026, the band have had a Biography released chronicling the band's fascinating story, they are supporting Garbage at Edinburgh Castle and are Special Guests on the Rezillos shows in London & Nottingham. Anticipation continues to build around their live shows and the prospect of some new music!  Travelling in from outside of Stockton-on-Tees and fancy making a night of it? Blues in the Bar Featuring Carley's Wreck and Ruin
Oct 18  Carley’s Wreck and Ruin are a British blues duo with a dark edge. Primitive and raw, blending gritty blues with trashy roots, their influences range from 1930’s Delta Blues, through to the gospel fire of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the occult style of Black Sabbath, the theatrics of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, the witchy glamour of Stevie Nicks,  the spiritual side of Robert Plant, the Rock n Roll splendour of Wanda Jackson, the Mandolin of Bill Monroe and the guitars of Rockabilly and Punk all blended together with the constant echoes of old-timey Country and British Folk that creep in through the cracks into the speakers. The music is the stripped-back, beat-up brainchild of Jo Carley (vocals, mandolin, washboard, percussion, keys) and Tim Carley (battered archtop guitar, rattlin' shoe, kick drum, distorted vintage amps, backing vocals). Raw, rhythmic, and possessed by something older than rock ’n’ roll itself. Jo and Tim met through a shared obsession with live music and a lifelong love of the strange, folk horror and the occult. Destined (or maybe cursed) to spend eternity together, making their own unholy racket seemed the answer to the question nobody was asking. Their journey has led them back in time to the gritty sounds of early blues, where they found the source that inspired some of their favourite music, and from that wellspring, Carley’s Wreck and Ruin was born. Before Wreck and Ruin, Jo and Tim spent nearly a decade touring the UK and Europe with their band ‘Jo Carley & The Old Dry Skulls’, developing their own dark roots style and building a loyal underground following.
